Designer Deals – DVF Dress

Scoring a crazy deal on designer clothing makes me feel like a kid on Christmas morning. If you read my posts regularly, you’ve heard me rave about buy/sell/trade apps like Poshmark and Vinted, where I’ve found some amazing designer pieces for a fraction of the retail price. These apps are great, but can sometimes be a gamble since you cannot make returns. If you’re more into brick & mortar shopping where you can try before you buy, one of my favorite places to go for second-hand clothing in Portland is Crossroads Trading. Similar to the popular recycled fashion retailer Buffalo Exchange, Crossroads will buy you’re new or gently-used trend-right clothing and give you 50% of the item price for store credit or 33% for instant cash. For example, if they buy a piece and price it at $20, you can choose to receive $10 in trade credit or $6.06 in cash. They also do consignment for designer items, where the payout percentage is even more. So if you are constantly going through clothes and are on top of the latest trends, Crossroads is a great place to make extra money to spend on your ever-changing wardrobe.

Crossroads has two locations in PDX, one on NW 23rd across the street from Urban Outfitters and one on SE Hawthorne and 37th. In my opinion, the offering of designer clothing is much better at Crossroads than at Buffalo Exchange. Just last week, I scored a great deal on this like-new DVF Heron dress, which originally retailed for $345. How much did I pay for it? ONLY $27!! Not only does the dress fit me like a glove, but it’s also in a striking yellow-orange, one of the hottest colors of the Fall 18 season. With tonal stitching, a mid-length hem, princess seams and a lined bustier, this is perfect transition-to-fall dress for semi-formal events.

I styled the piece with a contrasting teal snake-print Calvin Klein scarf (which I found at Goodwill for $7) that I cut into a small neck scarf, a pair of strappy black heels from Report, my beloved new pony hair leopard purse from The Kooples (which I also scored for a STEAL off Poshmark) and my favorite square hoop earrings. Scroll down to see the exact products I’m wearing and some similar options too so you can copy this look!

Don’t forget, you can also shop my outfits on ShopStyle here!!

As always, thank you for reading!! XOXO
