Pinterest Purchase
Who doesn’t love aimlessly scrolling through Pinterest? That was my go-to in college when I was pretending to take notes in a lecture class. I’ve always used Pinterest for design inspiration, not so much for shopping, but I recently came across a picture of a gorgeous pair of slouchy yet constructed olive green pants that I could not live another day without and luckily I was able to find some great coupon codes on websites like Raise. So I clicked the link and it brought me to an online site I’d never heard of before, SheSimplyShops.com. Looked legit. I selected my size (medium), paid my $38 + shipping and the purchase was made. I received my package a week and a half later.
The picture on the left is the photo I saw on Pinterest, and the right is me in the pants I purchased. What’s different? At first glance, they may look the same, other than the slight color variation. But the pants I received are seemingly made of lighter-weight, clingy fabric. The bottom cinched part is poorly made – the Pinterest picture makes the belt buckles look super sturdy and tight against the calf, whereas my pair becomes loose quickly and the straps flap in the wind if I don’t get creative with tucking them tightly. If the actual pants had been constructed in a heavier fabric like the Pinterest picture suggests, I bet this wouldn’t be an issue. Also, these pant legs are SO long! I ordered a size medium and this brand must think medium girls are 6′ 5.” I did a good job of hiding how much fabric is slouching, but it’s a lot.
With all that being said, I do like these pants, they’re just not what I was expecting. I give them a 3 out of 5 stars. Had I tried them on in a retail store, I probably wouldn’t have made the purchase due to the fit, but I’ll make them work. I love the color, they’re quite comfortable and can be dressed up or dressed down. One of my friends said they have “Fenty vibes” (Rihanna’s Puma collection, and her last name, fun fact), which I thought was quite a compliment. Here are some detail shots of the pants and a few different ways I styled them:
What do you think of these pants? Would you be inclined to purchase if you saw them on Pinterest?
ps: all these pictures were taken in the middle of a pedestrian walking bridge, consecutively, including the wardrobe change… lol
As always, thank you for reading! XOXO
